What we collect
Your email address, and whatever else you choose to add to your profile: name, affiliation, ORCID, subject expertise, biography. If you submit or review, we hold your manuscripts, reports and correspondence. If you earn royalties and request a withdrawal, we hold the bank details you give us.
We record which articles you download. This is not incidental analytics: subscriber downloads are the measure by which each month's subscription revenue is divided among researchers, so without it we could not pay them fairly.
What we do with it
Run the editorial process, deliver the content you have paid for, calculate and pay royalties, and send you the emails you have asked for. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Who processes it
MongoDB Atlas stores our data. Cloudinary stores manuscript and article files. Resend delivers our email. Paystack processes payments, and card details go directly to Paystack and never reach our servers. Vercel hosts the platform. Each is bound by its own data-processing terms.
Confidentiality in peer review
Manuscripts under review are shown only to invited reviewers and the editorial office. Reviewer identities are never disclosed to authors unless the reviewer chose to sign the report. Confidential comments to the editor are never shown to authors.
How long we keep it
Published articles and the royalty ledger are kept permanently, because they are the record. Unsuccessful submissions and their reports are retained for five years for the editorial record. You can ask us to delete your account, and we will, retaining only what the published record and financial law require.
Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection to processing. Most of it you can do yourself in settings; for the rest, write to privacy@pensul.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
A session cookie to keep you signed in, and a preference cookie or two. No advertising trackers and no third-party analytics that follow you off the site.
